Bekka Madeleine is an emerging singer-songwriter who imagines the young Americana with a distinctly melancholic twist. Pairing road-trip melodies with haunting lyrics, written with her sister Hannah, her voice captures the romanticism, moodiness, and hesitant hope of the new generation.

Bekka first started writing songs during the pandemic, while still in middle school, but her passion for music goes back to her early childhood. At five years old, she began taking piano lessons, and at age nine, she joined the Ann Arbor Youth Chorale, where she was promoted to the advanced choir just a year later. Towards the beginning of her teenage years, she took up guitar lessons; a few months later she began attending voice lessons.

Once the worldwide shutdown was lifted, Bekka, then fourteen, began participating in nearby open mics: Her performances at The Ark, The North Star Lounge, and the Westside Art Hop in Ann Arbor, MI, were met with enthusiastic responses. Audience members were impressed by Bekka's musical sophistication as well as Hannah's profound lyrics. It did not take long until Bekka Madeleine was invited to play a Happy Hour at the Northstar Lounge.

On November 10th, 2023, the North Star Lounge was packed with familiar and unfamiliar faces, who enjoyed an hour of nothing but original songs. At fourteen years old, she is the venue's youngest performer to date. Immediately afterwards, Bekka was invited back by North Star Lounge to perform her very first ticketed event on April 13th, 2024. Bekka, now fifteen, has gone on to release her second single on all streaming platforms: love in the time of climate change. Next, she looks forward to performing at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival’s Top of the Park at the Grove Stage from 5:30-6pm.
